mastermind group

currently back living in a small town, I love using the internet to connect, follow, and learn from other like minded – bloggers, photographers, and Christians … so when I was asked if I wanted to join a mastermind group (meeting Tuesday evenings, through Google Hangout), I of course couldn’t wait to see what this was all about! For those of you that don’t know what a mastermind group is… don’t worry I didn’t either! Its basically a small group ( in our case Christian woman, with blogs or small businesses ) who meet up to discuss, collaborate, and support each other! And Yes – it’s really cool!
Last Tuesday evening at 9pm was our first hangout, it was really awesome – a huge thank you goes out to Sam!!
We talked about things regarding ; business growth, blogging consistency, accountability, God’s plan and timing for our blogs/businesses … yup - I totally can’t wait for tonight’s hangout!

We decided to share on our blog’s why a mastermind group is important to us, here’s my thoughts.

Why a mastermind group is important to me: to connect, grow, support, and learn from other like minded christian ladies – and make some awesome new friend’s a long the way – who will hopefully help in holding me accountable when my blog goes neglected for a week ; ) !

My personal goals for this mastermind group: this is all new to me, and life is busy so my goal is simply to make some new friends and have some meaningful, constructive conversation about blogging, business, and God!

My goals for the blog over the next 6-12 months: to ‘pre’ plan and write post ahead of their ‘planned’ publish day – and with more planning/organization, I hope blogging consistence will naturally follow!

Who are my blogging inspirations:

wildflowers photography blog: i LOVE Joy’s unique cozy website, her honest beautiful blog, and absolutely love her photography work!

Julie Paisley Photography: I absolutely love Julie’s style, crisp look, and inviting feel of her website & blog. She is another photographer with a blog that I just adore and look at for inspiration and knowledge!

today is the day!!!!

We are SO excited to share with you today the launch of our new website!!! You will still be able to find us at mehgpiephotography.com    : ) , and from the website there will be a direct link to our blog, so you don’t miss a thing!

Here is a little walk through the new features and what you will find on our new site. We are so excited about all the new features it has for our clients too!

our new homepage has a very clean, tasteful, and simple look to it, we’re just adoring it! From the homepage you can navigate to all the other pages our site has to offer using the tabs displayed in the top right corner. You can also follow us on twitter, facebook  and instagram: just click on the logo’s in the bottom right hand corner. our galleries are easily located in out tab menu. We just LOVE the slideshow that will easily glide you through our photos in each gallery. 
our ‘behind the nikon’ serious has been displayed on the blog for months, but don’t let that stop you from checking it out again as there is some changes! 
this is one of our favourite features of the new website, our client albums!! Once your session has hit the website you will be emailed with your private gallery code to easily share with all your friends, and family! Prints, and albums are easily ordered from this section – using top notch security settings, and paypal options! 
we love hearing from you: past, present, and new clients! Don’t hesitate to contact us, we can’t wait to meet you, and be apart of capturing your story!!!

Viva Las Vegas – Stupid Cancer Summit

what happens in Vegas… goes on the blog !!

When Sarah (my sister) , was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 we were blessed with meeting a community of people, through different social media sites, who were also being touched by cancer: survivors fighters, caregivers… we all had something in-common(unfortunately that thing was cancer, but so fortunate for the friendships and companions that formed from this common thing we all shared!) all of these friends are truly a blessing!

On April 25th, Sarah and I headed to Vegas for stupid cancer’s , OMG2013 young adult’s cancer conference! Over the course of this 4 day conference we got to celebrate survivors, meet new friends, educate our selves, hear personal stories of other survivors – so much perspective, wisdom, and faith; was gained and felt over this weekend!

My favorite part about this weekend was getting to finally hug friends whom I had gotten to know very well over this past year ( thank you FaceTime!!) but not officially met!!

keep calm

I felt obligated to share some midweek motivation for all of you that today isn’t the start of your long weekend , not that I’m rubbing it in!

‘keep calm it’s almost friday’

In a little less than 24 hours I will be touching down in Las Vegas for a 4 day Stand up to cancer, young adults conference!! Sarah and I get to meet some of the people who are truly our dearest friends, that we have never ‘officially’ met. Shortly after Sarah was diagnosed we came in contact with a large supportive group of girls and people through the social networking app Instagram, through hash tagging things like; #cancer #bald #lymphoma #chemo #shaveforthebrave, we quickly found hundreds of other people and families experiencing the journey of cancer that had just taken a hold of our lives.
We bonded and related with a lot of the people that we met through this app, and at 10:30am tomorrow we get to officially hug and met some of these wonderful loving friends of ours! It’s a real surreal feeling, the connection and friendship we have made with some of these people, and thanks to technology we have been able to iMessage, tweet, Facebook, and FaceTime with them at such convenience.
This weekend will be filled with knowledge, love, new friendships, laughter, and an all around great time and atmosphere – I can’t wait for it to begin!!!

Isabella ; Natural Newborn Session

Last weekend we got to work with the beautiful Ms. Isabella, what a joy that was : ) capturing a newborns first hours, days, weeks is very precious.

Tony and Melissa are glowing new parents, their love for each other just showers over Isabella. Natural newborn sessions, really capture a special atmosphere and bond between newborns and parents. For me I get to see them in their natural environment; loving, cuddling, and comforting their small little bundle of joy; and capture these precious keepsake moments – Simply Beautiful!

Baby Bella : preview

the beauty of a glowing newborn is so special, they are so delicate and sweet. Tony and Melissa rock their new titles; Mom and Dad! These two both shine at being parents, watching them cuddle and comfort their new baby girl was precious. It is such an honour to capture a newborn in their first couple weeks.
